Arinze comes from a family of entrepreneurs and is motivated to carry on the calculated risk-taking that has supported his family for generations. In the 1960’s, his grandmother, despite being uneducated, seized an arbitrage opportunity as a fish seller. In the 1980’s, Arinze’s father started an ice cream business. He then attended law school and opened a private law practice in Houston, TX. Arinze has witnessed how small business ownership can create a social impact, realize financial returns, and leave a lasting legacy, so he is motivated by his family's entrepreneurial legacy and his desire to make a social impact.
Arinze developed strong expertise in the polymer manufacturing industry. He started his career as a chemical process engineer at ExxonMobil, spending a bulk of his time managing and optimizing complex manufacturing plants for rubber and plastics in Baytown, TX. After three years in operations, Arinze spent one year in the ExxonMobil Global Projects department. He was placed on a team carefully crafted to design ExxonMobil's first asset in China, (China 1). His team was awarded the 2020 Global President’s Award for Sustainability. While in business school, Arinze worked across venture capital and private equity and has maintained his interest in business services, industrials, and healthcare.
Arinze has an MBA from the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, from Prairie View A&M University, where he graduated cum laude and was inducted into the engineering honor societies of Omega Chi Epsilon and Tau Beta Pi.
